Squirrels Open Day/Investiture Event

Date: 10th Apr 2022 Author: Anthony Lander

Today the Squirrel Section at the 69th, were officially welcomed into not only our Scouting Family, but also the general Scouting Family across the globe.
The event was well supported by not only the Group Leaders, but also by West Yorkshire Scouts. We were honoured to have Ian Womersley (County Commissioner), Linda Molloy (County Vice Chairperson), Dan Breeze (ACC Squirrels), as well as Bev Dickinson (Bradford South DC). We also had the privilge to have various community leaders attend the event, and see what the Group has done for the wider community in Buttershaw.
Bev also officially invested Janine as the new Group Scout Leader at the 69th. We’d like to offer a huge thank you to Stephen for all of his hard work over the past twelve months.
As well as being invested into the 69th Family, the Squirrels also got to take part in a fun filled afternoon of games and activities.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
