Hammocks and Hot Dogs Event

Date: 29th Jan 2022 Author: Anthony Lander

On Saturday the 29th of January, the Group held a Hot Dog, Hammock and Hot Chocolate event for the Cub and Scout sections.
It was quite blustery, however that didn’t stop the 69th doing what we do best!

The Young People and their Families learnt how to put up and take down a hammock setup. The Young People, then had a go at trying out a hammock. We even got a few parents to try out the hammocks themselves!!
The Young People also got to toast marshmellows, and learnt how to make smores. All while eating hot dogs and drinking hot chocolate.

The Group Leadership Team, are already planning the next ‘Family Day’, so watch this space!!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
