The County Young Leaders Team run four weekends a year, where Young Leaders can work on their modules. Some of the modules, may be offered within the District as well.
As a Young Leader works towards their modules, they can also start to work towards their Mission Badges.
Mission One – Game
Plan and run a minimum of three games with the section you are volunteering with. At least one game should take place indoors and one outdoors.
Mission Two – Activity
Plan and run an activity (not a game) with the section you are volunteering with.
Mission Three – Programme planning
Take the section’s programme ideas to a programme planning meeting.
Mission Four – Delivery
Take responsibility for organising and running part of the section programme.
Once all Modules, and Missions are completed, then the Young Leader will have completed the Scheme.
On completion of the Scheme the Young Leader is awarded the Explorer Scout Young Leader belt buckle at West Yorkshire Scouts County Awards evening.
Any Young Leader who completes the Scheme, also gains a badge to wear on their Adult Uniform.
We encourage all our Young Leaders to complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, as it can be counted as their volunteering section of the Award.
