Halloween Camp October 2021

Date: 9th Nov 2021 Author: Scout Websites

The 69th Bradford South Scout Group went on their first Group Event, since relaunching the Group. We were joined by the 9th Bingley Cub Pack for the weekend.

We started off the weekend with a jolly singalong down around the Campfire Circle. The Young People certainly learnt some new songs, which were sung throughout the weekend!!

On the Saturday, many of the activities were based around the theme of ‘Halloween’.
The Beavers and Cubs went for a walk to a local landmark, carved pumpkins, built mini catapults, among other activities.

The Scouts had a go at more traditional scouting skills, such as fire lighting. They also got to have a go at Archery, and Axe Throwing.

Saturday evening, we were joined by Bev Dickinson (Bradford South District Commisoner) who told the Young People about her camp blanket and the stories behind some of the badges on there.

The Sunday was all about ‘breaking camp’. Taking down and packing away the tents, as well as clean up the Hut.

We finished off the day, by investing all of the Young People who had recently joined the Group. Many of which, came in from the Open Day held in September!!

Thankfully the weather stayed nice, until the end of the Sunday.
All in all, it was a weekend to remember! Here’s to the next one………

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
